2020 has been a year. Coronavirus has turned our lives upside down and inside out. What was normal is now abnormal and what seemed right now seems wrong. It al feels so strange. It reminds me so much of how Cora came into our lives.
Like this crazy virus, Cora doesn't follow conventional wisdom. She was nothing like our other babies. We didn't know how to handle a kid that didn't follow the Babywise book and schedule. She laughed at sleep research and tips. She was on her own time, her own schedule and her own rules.
She still is.
Like coronavirus, there were others before her, but none like her.
But she is also sweet and sappy and loving and kind.
She will do big things.
As much as I want "normal" life back, I could quarantine with you forever.
Unlike this virus, you are life giving, spirit filled, full of hope, carefree and rooted in love.
Cora, may you continue to take the world by storm, may your infectious spirit and laughter continue to spread, bringing as much joy, light and life to others as you have to us.
And we are all praying next year we will have a party with 200 people and hug strangers there and burn our masks and have a pot luck and go to ten concerts after you ride the bus and go to a full day of school in a school building 😉
Happy 10th Birthday Cora!!
