If you are familiar with the show The Waltons, you'll know the ending was always the same, a ritual of "Good nights"shouted across the house to all the family members. Madeline is a Walton at heart. Every night she shouts, "GOOD NIGHT, LOVE YOU EVA..." and has to say it to every family member and wait for the response back before she rolls over and drifts off to sleep with her lavender oil diffusing.
She would have been a great Walton. She's hometown sweetness and innocence.
She's small town hospitality wrapped up in a beautiful package.
She'd be the one on the show taking in strangers, feeding them a good meal and sending them off with new clothes she sewed herself.
She could live in the mountains of rural VA with no problem, tending to animals and chickens and small siblings and just relish in her element. She wouldn't miss a Sunday at church down the lane.
And she's a show you want to watch. Give that girls a song and a leotard and she will amaze you.
She'll have you glued to the scene like all of America was watching the Waltons.
She's quiet, but you can't look away. You don't want to turn the channel on this girl.
Madeline, your show is just getting started. Your ratings are going to soar. I can't wait to see the stories you tell and episodes of your amazing life unravel. Just continue to be a Walton - follow God, live simple, be kind to all and never forget to end the day with love.
Happy 12th Birthday, my John-Boy.
