Cora knew what she wanted to be for halloween weeks and weeks ago. Little Red Riding Hood in all her sweetness.
For the first year Eva was super excited to attempt to trick or treat "alone" with her other middle school friends. I should relish in this because I know soon she won't even want or be able to pull off trick or treating.
Cora is finally to the age where she can walk the whole neighborhood and I'm not worried the entire time about her freezing or getting tired. She's motivated to run the entire time by skittles and snickers.
We are so blessed to have a wonderful neighborhood and we hosted the neighborhood pre-trick or treating pot luck for the second year in a row. What my wonderful sister-in-law Billie Jo taught me is it's not really a party unless you have more than 50 people coming.
She also taught me that having the courage to open your home creates such amazing and unforgettable opportunities for fellowship and memory making. We had plenty more than fifty tonight and had a great time making memories, but not much time for pictures! So thankful to all who came and shared food and time together.
We know we will continue to enjoy this tradition, though the girls grow older and will soon start outgrowing the candy part, we will be sure to continue to enjoy the treats that come from family and friends gathering together. Happy Halloween!
